Langtang Valley-Ganja La Pass Trek

This trek offers a multitude of trekking destinations, exploring the Langtang Valley and getting across a challenging pass to enter Helambu Valley including great bio-diversity, cultural diversity, excellent panorama and the beautiful Helambu Valley. Kyanjin Gompa is the last village in the Langtang Valley, from where the trek starts to Helambu over Ganja La Pass (5,120 m). The pass itself is not easy; only during autumn and spring the pass opens for the trekkers. A trek over the Ganja La pass offers an entirely wilderness and adventurous experience. To cross over the pass requires the use of technical climbing equipment and the trekkers must be skilled in the use of this and be prepared to assist less well-equipped porter staff. The trail follows a small valley before reaching the glaciated pass where the use of ropes, crampons and ice-axes may be necessary. For 3-4 days, there are no facilities and groups with their staff must be fully self-sufficient.
