Everest Soft Trek

This trek is for those who are not physically fit or capable of going to the higher altitudes or to the Everest Base Camp but still want to experience the Everest, though from the distance, and the region itself. In this trek, one shall trek to less ambitious destinations such as Namche Bazaar, the administrative headquarter of the Khumbu region; Khumjung or Thame, more typical Sherpa villages; and Tengboche Monastery.

Standard Itinerary:

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport, meet our airport representative who will be displaying our company’s placard just outside the airport terminal. Then, get transferred to the respective hotel in a private tourist vehicle. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu

Day 2

Pre-trip Meeting; Kathmandu Valley sightseeing

After breakfast, at around 07:30 AM, pre-trip meeting is hosted in your hotel in Kathmandu in order to introduce the trek leader/guide. It is recommended to seek this opportunity to ask any question relevant to the trek. Please remember to bring the passport, 3 copies of passport-size photos, and a copy of the travel insurance policy. In any case that you will be arriving late and therefore are unable to attend the meeting, please inform in advance.

After that, get ready for the sightseeing tour that will start at around 09:30 AM. A private vehicle and professional tour guide is provided to guide you through the Kathmandu Valley including Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. A full-day sightseeing takes no more than 8 hrs to complete including the lunch time and rest of the time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in Thamel. Day 3

Fly to Lukla (2,810 m) & trek to Phakding (2,610 m)

From Kathmandu, take an early flight to Lukla. It’s a 40 minute flight with excellent views of Langtang, Rolwaling and Everest mountain regions in the north and beautiful green valleys in the south. Upon arrival to Lukla, get briefed by your guide and get introduced with the porters before walking towards Phakding following the Dudh Koshi River. On the way, pass through several beautiful villages and cross a few suspension bridges. Overnight at lodge, Phakding

Day 4

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,450 m)

After breakfast, continue the trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi, crossing this river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering the Sagarmatha National Park, where the permits are checked, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest, is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, cyber cafes and bakeries. Day 5

Rest day for acclimatization

A necessary day to spend here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning air; a short trek exploring the beautiful town as well as going for an easy acclimatization walk up Syangboche or Khumjung. After breakfast, hike to the Everest View Point Hotel, an ideal place to overview some outstanding mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku etc. The hike can be extended to Khumjung Village or Khunde Village to explore more about the Sherpa people and their lifestyle. Day 6

Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m)

After breakfast, continue along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi River with glorious views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and other mountains. On reaching Tengboche, the local monastery will be seen inside which there are incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20 ft sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Day 7

Trek back to Namche Bazaar

After breakfast, follow the same trail, leaving the mountains behind, back to the town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at lodge, Namche Bazaar

Day 8

Trek to Lukla

After breakfast, trek back to Lukla, the starting point of the trek, enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part and also giving time to explore the town. Overnight at lodge, Lukla

Day 9

Fly back to Kathmandu

After early breakfast, fly back to Kathmandu enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains that have been recently visited for one last time on the 30 minute scenic flight. On arrival in Kathmandu, get transferred to the respective hotel. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu

Day 10

Free day in Kathmandu

After breakfast, relax and enjoy the day on your own. It’s also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla. Overnight at hotel, Kathmandu

After breakfast, free till check out time; get transferred to Kathmandu International Airport for your final departure.
